New Motorcoaches to Provide Custom Tours for Visitors

(2011-07-29)

(wned) - In an effort to bring more visitors to Buffalo-Niagara, the AAA of Western and Central New York is launching a new motorcoach service.

Two new coaches were unveiled outside Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin Martin House Friday. AAA President and CEO Tom Chestnut says features include leather seats with shoulder-lap seatbelts, electrical outlets, satellite radio and Wi-Fi access.

Chestnut says AAA will be working with organizations in other cities to draw tourists. He says travel planners can customize tours for each group.

"We'll have trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls and an architectural tour of Buffalo. Whatever the group is interested in, we can put together that whole package, from one-day trips to five-day trips," said Chestnut.

According to Tourism Economics 2009 study, in the Greater Niagara region tourism is a $1.9 billion industry that generates $248 million in state and local taxes and supports more than 44,000 local jobs.
